I'm a publisher too
All vacation I have been working on a project. It's taken all of my spare time. I've been proofreading, formatting, uploading, designing covers, and writing blurbs. Exhausting. I'm thinking maybe a nice stiff drink (like a capaccino?) would come in handy now. Espcially if it has some shaved chocolate on the top and it's nice and foamy.
Anyhow - - -
Drumroll please.
For your reading pleasure, I am publishing my Alexander Series! They were published by Jacobyte Books in Australia before it folded. I got my rights back. (and lots of letters from people wanting the whole series.) Well, I'm in the process of uploading it now, and you can get the books as e-books (3$ - very reasonable) or paperback (royal format, not badly priced, I'm making a dollar profit on them, so go buy!)
Oh, and enjoy. They are a heckova lot of fun.

This looks like a lot of fun. Do you have any idea of the quality of the printed books?

I've ordered a series and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope the formatting and the binding are OK. The preview looked all right - and the download copy is good. (biting fingernails...)

That's amazing! Congratulations and best of luck on your new adventure!

Because I'm trying to learn about how the industry overall, I'm curious about how this works when you're contracted with an agent. (No need to explain, of course, if it's a business arrangement you want to keep private.)

I'm really excited for you! I hope you repost this information now and again, to remind us to buy your books when the holiday bills have been paid and we're all a little more flush with cash.

Well, I have all the rights to the books and I'm not giving away any rights by publishing them on the web. The story is the books had been published by Jacobyte, but it foloded before it was able to publish the last three books in the series, so I have a bunch of readers waiting impatiently for the rest of the story. I decided to publish them myself while waiting for my agent ot take a look and see if she wants to represent them. That's all.
:-)
And right now I'm busy re-formatting them for the umpteenth time. Sigh. I hate this business. LOL

Oh, cool. I wanted to read them but could never get my hands on the books. :)

Thanks! I am still fighting with the formatting. It is not easy to find a good format for both e-book and paperback versions.
